Understanding hay fever
Understanding hay fever
20% of the UK’s population suffers from ‘seasonal allergic rhinitis’ or hay fever – triggered by tree pollen and grass pollen during summer. It usually starts early in life with 40% of cases by age six and 30% during teens. The condition can seriously impair sufferers’ day-to-day life at work or school – for example, young people with symptoms on an exam day were 40% more likely to drop a grade between their mock and final GCSEs.
